This recipe is inspired by the vibrant flavors of Southeast Asia. Satay is a popular street food dish in many countries in the region, and it typically consists of grilled or roasted meat or tofu on skewers. In this recipe, we've used extra-firm tofu as a meat substitute, and we've added a variety of colorful vegetables to make it more nutritious and visually appealing. The tofu is marinated in a simple mixture of olive oil, salt, and pepper, and then roasted until golden brown. This gives it a slightly crispy exterior and a tender interior. The vegetables are grilled until they are tender but still have a bit of a bite to them. The combination of flavors and textures in this dish is simply irresistible.

Why It Works
  • Marinating the tofu in olive oil, salt, and pepper helps to develop flavor and prevent it from drying out during roasting.
  • Roasting the tofu at a high temperature gives it a crispy exterior and a tender interior.
  • Grilling the vegetables over medium heat allows them to caramelize slightly and develop a smoky flavor.
  • Serving the skewers with peanut sauce adds a delicious and authentic touch.
