The apricot and almond tart is a classic French dessert that dates back to the Middle Ages. It is believed to have originated in the Provence region of France, where apricots are grown in abundance. The tart is typically made with a sweet pastry crust filled with a layer of apricot preserves and topped with a crunchy almond streusel. It is often served warm with a dollop of whipped cream or ice cream.
