Greek Falafel Burrito Bowl with Tzatziki Sauce
This Greek Falafel Burrito Bowl is a flavorful and satisfying meal that combines the best of both worlds: the hearty comfort of a burrito bowl with the fresh, tangy flavors of Greek cuisine. The crispy falafel provides a protein-packed base, while the vibrant vegetables—cucumber, red onion, cherry tomatoes, and Kalamata olives—add a refreshing crunch and acidity. The creamy tzatziki sauce complements the falafel and vegetables perfectly, adding a cooling and herbaceous touch. Top it off with a drizzle of lemon-tahini dressing and a sprinkling of fresh parsley, and you have a dish that is both delicious and nutritious.
The inspiration for this Greek Falafel Burrito Bowl came to me during a trip to Greece a few years ago. I was exploring the vibrant streets of Athens when I came across a small, unassuming taverna that served the most incredible falafel I had ever tasted. The falafel was crispy and flavorful, and it was served with a creamy tzatziki sauce that was both refreshing and tangy. I was so impressed with the dish that I decided to recreate it at home. After a few rounds of experimentation, I finally came up with a recipe that I was happy with. This Greek Falafel Burrito Bowl is my take on that classic Greek dish, and it's one that I've been making ever since.
