Ingredients
  • 1 cup dried peas
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 (14-ounce) can diced tomatoes
Instructions
  1. Soak the peas in water overnight.
  2. Drain the peas and rinse them well.
  3. Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  4. Add the onion and cook until softened.
  5. Add the garlic, ginger-garlic paste, cumin, coriander, turmeric, and cook for 1 minute.
  6. Add the tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Add the peas and enough water to cover them.
  8. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the peas are tender, about 20 minutes.
