Ingredients
  • 1 package filo dough (1 pound)
  • 1 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup chopped hazelnuts
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, hazelnuts, sugar, honey, water, and cinnamon. Stir until well combined.
  4. Lay a sheet of filo dough in the prepared pan. Brush with melted butter.
  5. Spread 1/4 of the nut mixture over the filo dough. Repeat with 4 more sheets of filo dough and 1/4 of the nut mixture, ending with a sheet of filo dough. Brush the top with melted butter.
  6. Score the baklava into diamond shapes.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. While the baklava is baking, melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler or in the microwave.
