Lemon Blueberry Scones
The blueberry scone is a classic breakfast pastry that is often enjoyed with a cup of coffee or tea. The combination of lemon and blueberry is a match made in heaven, and these scones are no exception. They are light and fluffy, with a subtle sweetness from the maple syrup and a hint of tartness from the lemon zest. The fresh blueberries add a burst of flavor and color, making these scones a perfect way to start your day.
The blueberry scone has a long and storied history, dating back to the early 19th century. The first scones were made in Scotland, and they were originally called "bannocks." Bannocks were made with oatmeal, flour, and water, and they were cooked on a griddle. Over time, scones became more popular, and they began to be made with a variety of different ingredients, including flour, sugar, butter, and eggs. The blueberry scone was first created in the United States in the early 20th century, and it quickly became a popular favorite. Today, blueberry scones are enjoyed all over the world, and they are a staple of many breakfast menus.
