Grilled Salmon with Lemon and Thyme
Grilled salmon is a classic for a reason: it's simple, delicious, and healthy. This recipe takes the classic and adds a bit of brightness with lemon and thyme. The result is a flavorful and juicy salmon that's perfect for a summer meal.
The first time I had grilled salmon with lemon and thyme, I was on a camping trip with my family. We had caught a few salmon that day, and my dad grilled them over the campfire. He simply seasoned the salmon with salt and pepper, then grilled it over the coals. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and the lemon and thyme added a wonderful flavor. I've been making this recipe ever since, and it's always a hit.

Prep time: 10 | Cook time: 20 | Serves: 4
Ingredients
  • 1 lb salmon fillet, skinless and boneless
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 lemon, zested and juiced
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
  1. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Brush salmon fillet with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a small bowl, combine lemon zest, lemon juice, and thyme leaves.
  4. Spread the lemon-thyme mixture over the salmon fillet.
  5. Grill the salmon for 8-10 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
  6. Let the salmon rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Why It Works
  • Grilling the salmon over high heat creates a nice crust on the outside while keeping the inside moist and flaky.
  • The lemon and thyme add a bright and herbaceous flavor to the salmon.
  • The salmon is cooked through when it reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
