Lobster Rolls
The lobster roll is a classic summer dish, and it's easy to see why. It's a simple combination of lobster, mayonnaise, lemon juice, and salt and pepper, served on a toasted hot dog bun. But it's the combination of those flavors and textures that makes it so special.
The lobster roll is thought to have originated in Maine in the early 1900s. At the time, lobster was a cheap and plentiful commodity, and fishermen would often use it as bait for other fish. But one day, a fisherman named Harry Havey decided to try eating the lobster instead of using it as bait. He cooked it up and served it on a toasted hot dog bun, and the lobster roll was born.
