Mussels have been a staple food in coastal communities for centuries, and there are countless variations on this classic dish. This particular recipe is inspired by the mussels that I ate in a small town on the coast of France. The mussels were cooked in a simple broth made with white wine, garlic, olive oil, and parsley, and they were absolutely delicious. I have since recreated this dish many times, and it has become one of my favorite ways to cook mussels.

Why It Works
  • The white wine adds a subtle acidity to the broth, which helps to balance out the richness of the mussels.
  • The garlic adds a savory flavor to the broth, and it also helps to create a delicious aroma.
  • The olive oil helps to create a rich and flavorful broth, and it also helps to keep the mussels moist.
  • The parsley adds a fresh and herbaceous flavor to the broth, and it also helps to brighten up the dish.
