Citrusy Lemon Verbena, Bergamot, and Grapefruit Peel Blend
This citrusy blend of lemon verbena, bergamot, and grapefruit peel is a refreshing and invigorating tea that's perfect for any time of day. The lemon verbena adds a bright, lemony flavor, while the bergamot and grapefruit peel add a touch of sweetness and bitterness. This tea is also a good source of antioxidants and vitamins.
This recipe was inspired by a trip to the Amalfi Coast in Italy. I was hiking along the Sentiero degli Dei (Path of the Gods) when I came across a small farm stand selling fresh lemons, bergamot, and grapefruit. I bought some of each and made a tea with the peels. The tea was so delicious and refreshing that I decided to share the recipe with you.

  • 1 tbsp dried bergamot peel
  • 1 tbsp dried grapefruit peel
  • 1 cup boiling water

Why It Works
  • The lemon verbena, bergamot, and grapefruit peel all have complementary flavors that work well together.
  • The boiling water helps to extract the flavors and aromas from the citrus peels and herbs.
  • Steeping the tea for 5-10 minutes allows the flavors to meld together and develop.
  • Straining the tea into a cup removes any sediment and ensures a smooth, flavorful cup of tea.
