Energy-Boosting Green Juice
This green juice is packed with nutrients and antioxidants, and it's a great way to start your day or power through an afternoon slump. The kale and spinach provide plenty of vitamins A, C, and K, while the cucumber and celery add hydration and electrolytes. The parsley is a good source of chlorophyll, which has been shown to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. The apple adds a touch of sweetness and the lemon juice helps to brighten the flavor. Finally, the ginger adds a bit of spice and helps to improve digestion.
I first developed this recipe when I was looking for a way to get more nutrients into my diet. I had been juicing for a while, but I was always disappointed by how bland and watery most green juices were. I decided to experiment with different combinations of fruits and vegetables until I came up with this recipe. It's now one of my favorite ways to start the day or power through an afternoon slump.

Why It Works
  • The kale and spinach are both excellent sources of vitamins A, C, and K. Vitamin A is important for vision, immune function, and skin health. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps to protect the body from damage caused by free radicals. Vitamin K is essential for blood clotting and bone health.
  • The cucumber and celery add hydration and electrolytes. Cucumbers are about 95% water, so they're a great way to stay hydrated. They also contain electrolytes, which are minerals that help to regulate fluid balance in the body. Celery is also a good source of electrolytes, and it contains a compound called phthalides, which has been shown to lower blood pressure.
  • The parsley is a good source of chlorophyll, which has been shown to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Chlorophyll is a green pigment that plants use to absorb sunlight. It has been shown to have a number of health benefits, including reducing inflammation, protecting against oxidative damage, and improving digestion.
  • The apple adds a touch of sweetness and the lemon juice helps to brighten the flavor. Apples are a good source of fiber, vitamin C, and potassium. They also contain a number of antioxidants, which have been shown to have a number of health benefits, including reducing the risk of heart disease and cancer. Lemon juice adds a bit of tartness to the juice and helps to brighten the flavor.
  • The ginger adds a bit of spice and helps to improve digestion. Ginger is a rhizome that has been used for centuries in traditional medicine. It has a number of health benefits, including reducing nausea, improving digestion, and reducing inflammation.
