Onion rings have been a staple of American cuisine since the early 1900s, when they were first served at state fairs and carnivals. Traditionally, onion rings are made with white or yellow onions that are sliced into rings, coated in a batter made from flour, eggs, and milk, and then fried until golden brown. While delicious, traditional onion rings are also high in calories and fat. In recent years, there has been a growing demand for healthier alternatives to traditional fried foods, and air fryer onion rings are a great option. Air fryer onion rings are made with the same ingredients as traditional onion rings, but they are cooked in an air fryer instead of being fried in oil. This results in a healthier onion ring that is lower in calories and fat, but just as delicious.
