Golden Brown Jicama Fries with Chipotle Aioli
These jicama fries are a healthy and delicious alternative to traditional potato fries. They're crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and have a slightly sweet flavor. The chipotle aioli adds a spicy kick that complements the fries perfectly.
Jicama is a root vegetable that is native to Mexico and Central America. It has a crisp texture and a slightly sweet flavor. Jicama is a good source of vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, potassium, and fiber. I first came across jicama fries when I was living in Mexico City. I was at a street fair and saw a vendor selling them. I was intrigued, so I ordered a plate. I was immediately hooked. The fries were crispy, flavorful, and addictive. I knew that I had to recreate these fries at home. I experimented with different recipes until I finally came up with one that I was happy with. My recipe uses cornstarch to help the fries crisp up. I also add a bit of salt and pepper to taste. The chipotle aioli is the perfect dipping sauce for these fries. It's spicy, smoky, and creamy. I make my aioli with vegan mayonnaise, chipotle peppers in adobo, and lime juice.
