Tepache Trail Mix is a delicious and nutritious snack that's perfect for on-the-go. It's made with a blend of crunchy and chewy ingredients, including tepache, fermented pumpkin seeds, pepitas, unsweetened coconut flakes, dried cranberries, chopped walnuts, chopped almonds, and raisins. The tepache adds a slightly sweet and tangy flavor to the mix, while the fermented pumpkin seeds and pepitas provide a boost of protein and healthy fats. The coconut flakes, dried cranberries, and nuts add sweetness, tartness, and crunch. This trail mix is a great way to satisfy your cravings between meals and it's also a good source of fiber, protein, and antioxidants.
Tepache Trail Mix was born out of a desire to create a healthy and satisfying snack that was also easy to make. I had been experimenting with making tepache, a fermented pineapple drink, and I was looking for a way to use up the leftover solids. I combined the tepache solids with some fermented pumpkin seeds, pepitas, unsweetened coconut flakes, dried cranberries, chopped walnuts, and chopped almonds, and the result was a delicious and nutritious trail mix that was perfect for on-the-go. I've been making Tepache Trail Mix ever since, and it's become one of my favorite snacks.
