One day, I was walking along the beach and I saw this giant bull kelp washed up on shore. I had never seen anything like it before, and I was immediately intrigued. I picked it up and took it home with me, and that's when the idea for these burgers was born.

Ingredients
1 (15-ounce) can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
1 cup chopped bull kelp
1/2 onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, mash the chickpeas. Add the bull kelp, onion, garlic, oats, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Form the mixture into 8 patties.
Place the patties on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
