Easy FODMAP-Friendly Guacamole with Tortilla Chips
This guacamole is a great way to enjoy the creamy, flavorful avocado without any of the digestive discomfort that can come from eating high-FODMAP foods. The red onion and cilantro add a bit of brightness and freshness, while the lime juice, cumin, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper give it a nice depth of flavor. Serve it with your favorite low-FODMAP tortilla chips for a delicious and satisfying snack or appetizer.
Guacamole is a classic Mexican dish that is typically made with avocados, onions, tomatoes, cilantro, and lime juice. However, many of these ingredients are high in FODMAPs, which can cause digestive problems for people with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). This recipe for FODMAP-friendly guacamole uses low-FODMAP ingredients to create a dish that is both delicious and easy to digest. I first developed this recipe when my friend was diagnosed with IBS. She loved guacamole, but she couldn't eat it because of the high FODMAP content. I experimented with different ingredients until I came up with this recipe, which she can enjoy without any problems. I've since shared this recipe with many other people with IBS, and they all love it.
