Guacamole is a dish that has been enjoyed for centuries in Mexico and Central America. The Aztecs called it "ahuacamolli," which means "avocado sauce." Guacamole was traditionally made with just avocados, tomatoes, onions, and cilantro. However, over time, other ingredients, such as lime juice, salt, and black pepper, were added to the recipe. Today, there are many different variations of guacamole, but the classic recipe is still the most popular.
