These citrus-marinated shrimp skewers are a great way to enjoy the flavors of summer. The shrimp are marinated in a mixture of olive oil, lemon juice, lime juice, orange juice, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper, then grilled until they are cooked through. The result is a juicy, flavorful shrimp skewer that is perfect for any party or gathering.
I first developed this recipe back in the summer of 2010. I was looking for a way to make shrimp skewers that were both flavorful and easy to make. I experimented with a few different marinades, but I found that the combination of citrus juices, herbs, and olive oil was the best. The citrus juices help to tenderize the shrimp and give them a bright, refreshing flavor, while the herbs and olive oil add depth and richness. I've been making these skewers ever since, and they've always been a hit with my friends and family.

Why It Works
The combination of citrus juices, herbs, and olive oil creates a flavorful marinade that tenderizes the shrimp and gives them a bright, refreshing flavor.
Grilling the shrimp skewers over high heat helps to caramelize the marinade and create a slightly crispy exterior.
Soaking the wooden skewers in water before grilling helps to prevent them from burning.
