Sweet and Spicy Mango Dressing with a Touch of Jalapeno
A sweet and spicy mango dressing with a touch of jalapeno is the perfect way to add some flavor to your salads, grilled chicken, or fish. This dressing is made with ripe mango, lime juice, honey, cumin, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, olive oil, and jalapeno. It's easy to make and can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
I first had this dressing at a restaurant in Mexico City. It was served on a salad with grilled chicken and it was so delicious that I asked the chef for the recipe. He was kind enough to share it with me and I've been making it ever since. I've made a few changes to the original recipe over the years, but the basic ingredients and flavors are the same. I like to use ripe mango for this dressing because it gives it a sweet and fruity flavor. I also use fresh lime juice for a bit of tartness. The honey adds a touch of sweetness and the cumin, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper give it a nice spicy kick. The olive oil helps to emulsify the dressing and the jalapeno adds a bit of heat. This dressing is so versatile and can be used on a variety of dishes. I love it on salads, grilled chicken, fish, and even tacos. It's also great for marinating meats or vegetables.
