Soothing Chamomile and Honey Elixir
This soothing elixir is the perfect way to relax and unwind after a long day. The chamomile flowers provide a calming effect, while the honey and lemon add sweetness and a touch of acidity. A hint of cinnamon, ginger, and sea salt balances out the flavors and adds a touch of complexity. To make this tea, simply combine the ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, or until the tea has reached your desired strength. Strain the tea into a mug and add honey, lemon, cinnamon, ginger, and sea salt. Stir until the honey is dissolved and enjoy!
I first came across this recipe while traveling in Morocco. I was staying in a small village in the Atlas Mountains, and one evening, I was invited to a traditional Moroccan tea ceremony. The tea was made with chamomile flowers, honey, and lemon, and it was absolutely delicious. I asked the woman who made the tea for the recipe, and she was kind enough to share it with me. I've been making this tea ever since, and I always find it to be a calming and restorative beverage. It's the perfect way to relax and unwind after a long day, or to enjoy on a cold winter night. I've adapted the recipe slightly over the years, adding cinnamon, ginger, and sea salt to give it a bit more flavor. I also like to add a sprig of fresh thyme to the tea, which adds a touch of herbaceousness. This tea is very easy to make, and it's a great way to use up any leftover chamomile flowers you may have. It's also a very versatile tea, and you can adjust the ingredients to suit your own taste preferences.
